Payment Policy

Orders are complete and will go into production ONLY once full payment is met or payment terms are agreed upon. Payment can be made via credit or debit card, check or Paypal.

Returns & Refunds

  • If an order is cancelled prior to going into production, the payment will be refunded with the exception of the credit card processing fee and a 10% transaction fee.
  • If an order is cancelled after going into production, the payment will be refunded with the exception of the credit card processing fee and a 25% restocking fee.

Shipping Policy

We ship all packages via USPS Priority, UPS or FedEx. Once your item has shipped, you will receive an order confirmation as well as tracking information. We are not responsible for and cannot control transit time, nor can we locate lost packages. To track or recover a lost package, please contact your postal carrier or delivery service. If your order is returned to us you will be responsible for the reshipment cost.

If your order arrives damaged, please email photos of the broken item, label and packaging to hello@southernlightselectric.com. DO NOT discard packaging materials, as it may be needed during the insurance process. Please see DAMAGES section for our policies on replacing broken or damaged items.

DAMAGES

Damages must be documented and reported within 10 business days of receipt. SLE is not responsible for repair or replacement of damages reported after this time. If damage has occurred in shipping, please retain ALL packaging materials. Visible damage upon delivery must be acknowledged upon receipt of package by you and the carrier. Failure to do so may invalidate any claims to the carrier. Please notify the carrier as soon as possible about any apparent damages to file a claim report and retain all packaging materials.

SAFETY 

All of our hardwired fixtures are UL listed in North America for dry location use. Our desk lamps and any plug in fixtures are not UL listed as standard, but can be certified upon request.

 

International Customers

Shipping

All taxes, duties and customs fees are the responsibility of the purchaser. SLE is not responsible for shipping delays once the order leaves the US.

 Electrical Requirements

All fixtures are rated for 120v. Dry location

INSTALLATION

All hardwired fixtures come with the necessary hardware for installation. Installation by a licensed electrician is highly recommended. Hard-wired light fixtures are UL listed for dry locations only.

WARRANTY

SLE fixtures are guaranteed for three (3) years after receipt against mechanical defects, not including installation costs, in which SLE will repair or replace defective components or product. Fixtures are labeled clearly with the maximum allowable wattage. Use of higher wattage bulbs than indicated will forfeit warranty. Hard-wired light fixtures are UL listed for dry locations only. Installation of hard-wired fixtures in damp or wet locations will forfeit warranty.

 

Terms and Conditions of Southern Lights Electric Co

  1. Introduction

1.1 These terms and conditions ("Agreement") govern the use of Southern Lights Electric Co's products and services. By purchasing and using our lighting products, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

  1. Warranty

2.1 Southern Lights Electric Co offers a warranty on its lighting products for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase.

2.2 The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.

2.3 The warranty does not cover associated costs such as installation or removal of the fixture.

2.4 The warranty will be void if the lighting product is mishandled, modified, or installed incorrectly by the customer.

2.5 In the event of a valid warranty claim, customers should contact Southern Lights Electric Co by emailing hello@southernlightselectric.com. The company will work to repair or replace the defective product.

2.6 Refunds will not be provided. Repairs or replacements are the sole remedies available to customers for valid warranty claims.

2.7 The warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, damage caused by natural disasters, accidents, or improper use.

  1. Limitations of Liability

3.1 Southern Lights Electric Co shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use its lighting products.

3.2 Southern Lights Electric Co's liability for any claim arising out of or related to this Agreement or the use of its lighting products shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific product giving rise to the claim.

  1. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

4.1 This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Tennessee, United States.

4.2 Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the state of Tennessee.

  1. Miscellaneous

5.1 This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between Southern Lights Electric Co and the customer regarding the use of its products and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.

5.2 Southern Lights Electric Co reserves the right to modify or amend this Agreement at any time. Any such modifications or amendments will be effective upon posting on the company's website or providing notice to customers.
